Enhance your CV and further your career prospects by experiencing all that a prestigious Fulbright scholarship has to offer.  Available for both academic and professional services staff, a Fulbright scholarship offers unparalled access to many U.S Universities, Colleges and Professional Networks.

*Whilst Fulbright scholarships are also available for students, this information focuses on Fulbright opportunities for staff.

  • What does Fulbright do?

    Fulbright Ireland

    Fulbright Ireland (scholarships are also available via Fulbright GB) provides grants for Irish citizens and EU citizens resident in Ireland to research, including professional research, study or lecture in the U.S for a period of from 4 months minimum to up to 1 year maximum.

    Fulbright UK

    Provides grants for British citizens and those from British Overseas Territories

  • What is a Fulbright Scholarship?

    A Fulbright scholarship allows you to further study/research or lecture if you are academic staff or undertake non –commercial professional research or lecture if you are a member of professional services staff with relevant professional experience.

    Fulbright Awards are an accessible way for academics and professionals to research and /or lecture (professional staff to research best practice in your professional area), build long-term relationships and nurture future collaborations with host institutions in the USA.  However, an award provides so much more than just providing research opportunities.  Participating in a Fulbright award allows you to experience the culture and life of your host institute and city, and have access to the Fulbright network to help develop your professional profile.

  • What sort of scholarships are available ?

    There are a number of awards available including sponsored awards targeted at specific areas (e.g. Awards in the areas of Innovation, Business, Climate Change, Geoscience and Health Impact award for Health professionals and Tech impact award for tech professionals ( e.g. cyber security)
