The Library has recently taken out a subscription to PressReader, a resource that provides unlimited access to 7,000 digital newspapers and magazines from 120 countries in 60 languages.

Student wellbeing and accessibility matters to us, so we have created a Wellbeing and Relaxation space in the McClay Library. It features sound cancelling screens and is an oasis of calm for students against the busy backdrop of the Library.

In our 2021 Customer Satisfaction Survey we received feedback regarding the McClay opening hours. We have listened and increased the hours that we are open.

What's happening with UKRI?

Many people have heard of Edward Bunting and his unique manuscript collection held in Special Collections at Queen’s University. What is perhaps less well known is that the most important manuscript in this collection is Manuscript 29 or MS 4/29.

Since 2014, the Library has been committed to ensuring a consistent and excellent delivery of service through a range of 18 Standards of Service. Each year, we review these Standards, our performance, and set targets for the coming year.

Special Collections is pleased to host an exhibition of books, publications and ephemera from the private library and archive of curator Roberta Bacic.

As part of the Remembering Bunting Festival 2025, Special Collections and Archives will introduce and present a selection of the Edward Bunting manuscripts in the McClay Library on Friday the 28th of February at 2:30pm.
