The Postdoc Society is a vibrant community led by postdocs and research staff from all Faculties at Queen’s. Founded in October 2022, the Society's mission is to support and empower postdoctoral researchers throughout their time at Queen’s. It does this by organising events and initiatives that foster networking and collaboration across the university and within individual Faculties. These include social gatherings, wellbeing initiatives, research-focused events, and the flagship Postdoc Showcase that takes place each year during National Postdoc Appreciation Week.
Beyond organising events, the Society also advocates for postdocs by maintaining strong connections with the Postdoctoral Development Committee (PDC) and other key university bodies.
At this information session, you’ll:
-
Hear more about what the Society does and the impact it has made so far
-
Learn about how you can get involved with the Society
-
Meet current members and share ideas for future activities
Whether you’re new to Queen’s or have been here a while, this is a great opportunity to connect with peers and contribute to a thriving postdoc community.
We especially encourage volunteers from the Faculties of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences (AHSS) and Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) to get involved - but all research staff are warmly invited.
