WILLIAM GUSTAV THOMAS EDMONDES was born in Bridgend, in 1966. In 1980 he co-founded the all-spontaneous outfit Radioactive Sparrow. After attending Cardiff Art College he studied composition with Anthony Powers (Cardiff), Robert Keeley (Kings London) and William Brooks (York). His co-founded YEAH YOU in 2013 with his daughter Elvin Brandhi. Outside of that duo, he performs regularly solo and in collaboration with Odie Ji Ghast, John Garner, People Like Us/Vicki Bennett, Pat Thomas, Otto Willberg, Faye MacCalman and Posset among many others.

He has been a full-time faculty member at Newcastle University (UK) since 2004 where he teaches contemporary performance, composition and critical-historical courses on Hip Hop, 21st century Jazz, anarchy & extreme aesthetic/fringe music cultures.
