The Contemporary Music Centre (CMC) in Dublin is Ireland's archive and resource centre for new music, supporting the work of composers on the Island. Professor Mary Dullea has been uncovering the connections between and characteristics of the hundreds of works in the piano catalogue in recent years. This talk will expand on enhanced understandings of these works and composers, through her engagement with the catalogue and recordings made.
Pianist Mary Dullea is Director of Performance and Professor in Music at Royal Holloway, University of London. She is also the pianist in the Fidelio Trio, passionate advocates for piano trio repertoire around the world. With an international performing, commissioning, recording and collaborative profile, Mary is also active as Artistic Director and curator. Projects including 'Soundings' at Austrian Cultural Forum London, a cross-cultural exchange between UK and Austrian based composers and performers and, Chamber Music on Valentia (Valentia Island, Co. Kerry) which she founded in 2014 with the aim of bringing chamber music performances of international standing, innovative programming, new work and outreach and engagement programmes to this unique place.
