The films were co-created with migrant women living and working in Northern Ireland and explore themes of media representation, voice, belonging, and access. The screening will be followed by an informal discussion.
About the films:
The programme includes three short films co-created with migrant women in Northern Ireland, alongside a longer film focusing on the lack of female translators for migrant women who do not speak English. The total running time of all films is approximately 15 minutes.
Guests and contributors:
The screening will be attended by migrant women working in the media in Northern Ireland, including contributors to the project. The films were created in collaboration with practitioners and graduates from Media and Broadcast Production at Queen’s University Belfast, and highlight pathways between creative practice, education, and industry.
This event is free and open to students and staff, and all are very welcome. No booking is required.
