Playwright and screenwriter Karis Kelly (she/they) joins the Drama Department and the Seamus Heaney Centre to discuss, among many things, her Women’s Prize for Playwrighting-winning play Consumed, opening at The Lyric Theatre in February after an acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe last year, and her freelance screenwriting work working on television series as Hope Street and The Break.
We’ll also be discussing the challenges, and rewards, of making a life, and a living, of writing.
The Tuesday Group is a long-running creative writing workshop for prose writers at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s, coordinated by Dara McWade. Their regular Write Night sees a break from the workshop format to feature guest writers offering insights into their own writing lives.
