Vice-Chancellor welcomes Sinn Féin delegation to Queen’s

The Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University Professor Ian Greer has welcomed a Sinn Féin delegation to campus to meet with senior management and students, and to discuss a number of issues.

Joining him for a tour of the new Student Centre and Students’ Union One Elmwood was Vice President of Sinn Féin Michelle O'Neill MLA, Deirdre Hargey, MLA and Conor Murphy MLA, who also met with the Students’ Union Officer team.

Professor Greer said: “We very much welcome the Vice President of Sinn Féin Michelle O’Neill MLA to Queen’s to discuss a range of issues crucial to the future of education and our students. We discussed sustainability and funding, and how we ensure that we are most effectively resourced to provide the best education for students from Northern Ireland and across the world.
 
I also took the opportunity to update them on our upcoming conference on the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement in April, in addition to the progress made on the University’s Social Charter and social responsibility projects.”
