Accessibility Information
Plan your visit to the University
University Schools are spread over many sites, generally within a one-mile radius. Although the main site is predominantly level, gradients do occur, particularly on adjacent roads and streets.
Access to academic facilities varies in range and consistency with libraries, sport and leisure facilities and the Students' Union being generally accessible. Recently constructed Halls of Residence at various locations have rooms of floors specifically designed for wheelchair users, and further adaptations for your particular requirements may be carried out as necessary.
We have partnered with AccessAble to develop guides to help staff, students and visitors to get to and around our sites and buildings more easily.
Download the AcccessAble app from the App store or Google Play using the links below:
The guides provide detailed information you need to work out if a place is going to be accessible to you.

- Disabled Parking
A number of disabled car parking bays are available for staff, students, and visitors to the University. They can be found at the Main Site, MBC, and Ashby.
For staff or students seeking a disabled car parking permit, the following steps must be followed:
If a staff member is in possession of a blue badge, they will be offered a disabled car parking permit at the University free of charge. Staff must complete the Disabled Parking Application Form, and return the form, with a copy of both sides of their blue badge, to the Estates Directorate. Guidelines for Disabled Parking can be found here.
- Visitor Parking
Staff wishing to book in visitors to University car parks must do so online by logging on to the car parking system here.
A Visitor Parking User Guide has been developed to assist staff with booking visitors to the University.
Visitor parking bays are located in three University car parks: Main Site, MBC, and Ashby.
