“This is a huge honour for me. I feel really lucky to have this new role to link with Queen's which has a large number of Alumni in China and has been very successful in various areas.”
Zhile, who graduated with a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2016, is now an Associate Professor at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIAT) where he has developed strong international research collaborations.
He was involved with Queen's international student events, organising activities through the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) QUB. Zhile also organised a Queen’s alumni event in 2018 where over 230 Queen's Alumni gathered in Shenzhen, China.
“Being at Queen’s was one of most beautiful and fruitful time periods of my life. I got plenty of diverse experiences in terms of research, culture and humanity as well as beautiful scenery and very good friends. I hope to visit Belfast and Queen's again soon.”
