The First Five People You Meet in Queen's Accommodation
Ever wonder what your first day living in Queen’s Accommodation will be like? Well, Liang is here to tell you more about it.
So you’ve accepted your accommodation offer, packed your bags and arrive in Belfast, Northern Ireland. One of the main activities during your Welcome Week will be settling into your student accommodation. Once you’ve checked in, collected your keys and moved your stuff in your new room there’s a high chance you’ll be bumping into these 5 people:
Residential Life Team Member
These are the main people running all student accommodation at Queen’s. From collecting your parcels to making sure you’re properly registered into your accommodation, these friendly people are always there to help and welcome you whenever you need help.
You can always find them at the BT1 and BT2 Reception or at the BT9 Tree House!
Security Team Member
These guys are here to ensure that you’re safe throughout your stay here at Queen’s Accommodation. If you ever find yourself getting locked out from your room in the middle of the night, they are always there to rescue you.
(Trust me, this has happened to me more often that I like to admit!)
Gym Staff
If you’re living in BT1 and BT2, you will be able to use the free gym available in BT1. The gym staff are always there to help you if you need some advice on working out or conducting any form of exercise.
One of the Cleaning Team
It’s pretty easy to spot the cleaning team – since they’re always on the go to ensure that the cleanliness of Queen’s Accommodation is kept at a high standard. These guys will be there to conduct room checks and apartments check to ensure that you keep your living space tidy.
Your New Best Friend
I met my new best friend on my very first day at BT2. By coincidence, she had actually studied at the same University in Malaysia. I was happy to meet a familiar face in a foreign land.
Slowly but surely, we’ve done a ton of things together – we hang out, go to classes together and have bonded over some social events at the Coffee Bar in BT2. More so, she’s my neighbour on the same floor. I’m so glad we bumped into each other on the first day.
You’re bound to meet a ton of people on your first day in Queen's accommodation. From new flatmates to the members of the team who will ensure your stay is like a home from home.
