Grace McAlister
Assistant Excavation Director
After graduating from Queens in 2009, Grace worked in commercial archaeology before joining the CAF in 2011. Since then she has been involved in the excavation and survey of significant archaeological monuments and landscapes, as well as researching and writing reports and publications. Grace has directed a number of projects including the excavation of a seventeenth-century village at Dunluce Castle, Co. Antrim as well as an excavation and building survey at Clonallon Church, Co. Down. Community and public outreach excavations also account for a significant part of her work within CAF and she works alongside Landscape Partnerships to facilitate volunteer and school visits to archaeological excavations. Grace has also worked with local Councils, designing and delivering interactive archaeology workshops to local primary and secondary schools at sites such as Mountsandel, Co. Derry and the Hill of O'Neill, Co. Tyrone.
