Research Interests
I’m interested in accepting PhD students in these areas:
- BIM and Digital Construction - the use and creation of digital twins, use of emerging digital technology, and the integration of technology to make buildings ‘smarter’
- Construction Quality Management - the decoupling of Quality Management Systems from practice and tools for enhancing the application of Quality Management Systems
- Procurement and Contract Administration – contract choice and application, tendering practice and bid decisions
Current Research Opportunities
- Microstructure and mechanical properties of an advanced metal matrix composite with ultrafine particle reinforcement for manufacturing aerospace components
- Babbitt/aluminium composite material with enhanced tribological and mechanical characteristics
- Electroless high entropy alloy coatings for energy storage applications
- Improving the shrinkage behaviour and efflorescence formation of low carbon geopolymer concrete
Public outreach & key achievements
- Active KTP (Knowledge Transfer) projects including with Ostick and Williams architects and Felix O'Hare contractors.
