Dr Quinn has worked as a senior leader, clinician, academic and researcher in cancer and palliative care nursing, in the United Kingdom and Ireland for over thirty years. His primary research interests include - symptom management in advanced disease, addressing spirituality and existential issues within health and social care, leadership development and exploring ways to support teaching approaches and clinical services to be more inclusive of diverse needs.
His current work includes, exploring diversity within the nursing and midwifery curriculum, health care leadership, spiritualty and diversity, exploring the role of spirituality and psychology support in palliative care services in Ireland.
Dr Quinn is a board member of the United Kingdom Oncology Nursing Society (UKONS), and chairs the UKONS Heamato-oncology Nurses Group. He is the chair of the Al Ireland Institute for Hospice and Palliative Care Network Spirituality, Psychology and Social Research Group and is an expert reviewer for the Haematology Association of Ireland. Dr Quinn is editor for a UK Nursing Leadership journal and an editorial board member for palliative care and cancer journals.
