Research Interests
Open to PhD applications in the fields of:
- early modern studies, particularly Shakespeare and Renaissance performance cultures
- age, childhood and gender in early modern literature and culture
- girlhood and literature
- early modern literature (especially drama) and civil unrest, including protest, riot.
Public outreach & key achievements
- Co- curator of (with Prof. Jennifer Duggan [University South Eastern Norway] and Asst. Prof. Lois Burke [Tilburg University]) and contributor to online exhibition 'Girls Transforming Texts' for the Girl Museum (2025)
- Co-organiser (with Prof. Fiona Magowan QUB) of Belfast Children's Festival Industry Event on Peacebuilding, the Arts and the Participation of Children and Young People (2024)
- Organiser of an event for children and young people at the Ulster Museum, ‘Discover Shakespeare’, as part of the British Council’s ‘Shakespeare Lives Across the Island’ programme (2016)
