The Bulletin of Spanish Studies (based here at Queen’s University) warmly invites you to an online event to celebrate its Centenary Year Moving Geographies: 100 Years of ‘Spanish’ Visual Studies

The two-day conference will demonstrate how digital technology is now used to bring alive the art and architecture of the past; the impact of the scholarly video essay and how the 'Spanish' of the Bulletin of Spanish Studies and Bulletin of Spanish Visual Studies has been redrawn, questioned or displaced in recent years, through an examination of linguistic, colonial, territorial and representational boundaries in Latin America.
To close our celebrations: Professor Sarah Wright (BSS/Royal Holloway) will be in conversation with Catalan director Carla Simón, followed by a public screening at Queen’s Film Theatre, of her most recent film, Oscar-nominated, winner of the Golden Bear at the 2022 Berlinale, Alcarràs.
The conference will also include online access to Aymara film Wiñaypacha (Eternity) by Peruvian director Óscar Catacora and a guided tour of the Museo del Prado, Madrid.
