Sean O'Connell is Professor of Modern Irish and British Social History at QUB. He was principal investigator (with Dr Leanne McCormick, Ulster) on the project on mother and baby homes and Magdalene laundries in Northern Ireland. The project report was published in January. He is an editor of Oral History and co-founder of QUOTE Hub, a dedicated website encouraging oral history research in Northern Ireland. He is the author of four monographs and numerous journal articles. The next monograph will be a history of joyriding published by Palgrave.

Olivia Dee is a Research Associate in Oral History at Newcastle University. She is an oral historian of gender, women, politics and reproductive rights in C20 England and Northern Ireland. Her publications include The Anti-Abortion Campaign in England 1966-1989 (Routledge, 2019) and “Oral History and Abortion: (re)creating narratives” (Oral History Review, 2021). She has conducted previous oral history research on reproductive rights in England, and worked as a Research Fellow on the Northern Ireland Mother and Baby Home Project at Queen's University, Belfast.
