Biography
Agnieszka received her Ph.D. in Economics from Warsaw School of Economics (2000), worked in the Netherlands (2000 – 2007) at Tilburg and Nijmegen Universities, first as a Marie-Curie fellow, post-doctoral researcher and, then, as an Assistant Professor. She works at CNRS since March 2007 (GATE in Lyon 2007 – 2010, CES in Paris since April 2010).
Agnieszka is an experienced researcher in microeconomic theory, in particular, network theory, game theory and bargaining theory, coalition formation and voting, with an interest also in experimental economics. She has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, and over 15 articles in contributed volumes (mainly Springer). Since over 15 years Agnieszka’s main research interest is in networks and influence. Over 20 of her publications concern network theory, with various contributions to the analysis of influence, opinion dynamics, diffusion and contagion in networks, conformism and anti-conformism, ranking methods and centrality measures, strategic network formation and externalities, among others.
Agnieszka carries out various collective responsibilities, on international as well as national and “local” levels. She is member of the Council of the Society for Social Choice and Welfare (2018 – 2023), Local (CES) Coordinator at the CTN (Coalition Theory Network, since 2013), and Country (France) Co-representative for European Meetings on Game Theory. She is Associate Editor of Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (since January 2020), International Game Theory Review (since 2011), and Group Decision and Negotiation (since December 2021). She gives regularly scientific expertise for different international and French institutions, e.g., National Science Foundation (U.S.), F.R.S.-FNRS (Belgium), Université Libre de Bruxelles, German Research Foundation, The Leverhulme Trust (U.K.), University of Southern Denmark, University of Luxembourg, National Science Centre (Poland), ANR, EMLyon Business School. With her work experience in Poland, The Netherlands and France, she has been involved in many international collaborations, grants and dissemination (over 10 grants including 3 EU Doctorate Programs and 3 other European grants, over 70 invited seminars and research visits abroad, about 120 regular presentations at conferences and workshops). Since 2008 she has co-organized over 20 international conferences and workshops and has been member of over 20 Scientific/Program Committees at other international conferences.
At the national (French) level, Agnieszka was member of CNU (2007 – 2011) and CoNRS (2011 – 2016). Since 2014 she is member of the Scientific Council of ADRES. She also participates very regularly in recruitment committees at French universities. Agnieszka is also actively involved in various research and management activities of CES. In 2013 – 2017 she was director of the Research Group Mathematical Economics and Games (Theoretical Microeconomics). Since 2014 she is member of the Council of CES, the Scientific Advisory Board (till 2021), and the Management Board. In 2016 – 2018 she was Deputy Director and since January 2019 she is Director of CES. So far, she has co-supervised 8 Ph.D. students and 5 HDR (habilitation) theses. Since 2009 she was member of over 30 Ph.D. or HDR committees.
