A Unique Silence: welcoming Rembrandt to the Ulster Museum
Tue 26 Jan, TIME TBC
Ulster Museum (restrictions permitting, online option also planned)
The next in our series of Ekphrasis seminars will take place in January 2021. The exhibition which continues until March 2021, is a celebration – the first chance to see six etchings by the famed Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn since they were gifted to the Ulster Museum.
In this first session, students will have a bespoke gallery tour with curator of art, Anna Liesching, and an introduction to ekphrastic poetry with Stephen Sexton.
Currently the complete exhibition can be seen online at Smartify, and you can hear more about the exhibition in this episode of The Fine Print, with Anna Liesching and the Seamus Heaney Centre's Padraig Regan.
