SHC Presents...
Poetry, prose, drama, criticism, show-and-tell, original work, or something revisited. Each night features an expert or enthusiast from outside the literary sector. These evenings are an opportunity to showcase the wonderful writing that goes on the Centre, and provide our students with a space to experiment with new work and reach new audiences.
Taking place monthly (or thereabouts), in the Crescent Arts Centre (unless we're on tour or in isolation).
FREE / BYO.

Our return to live events celebrated the launch of The Black Dreams: Strange stories from Northern Ireland (Blackstaff Press, 2021).
It featured readings from Sacha White, Sam Thompson, Emma Devlin, Suzi Bloom, John Patrick Higgins and Aislinn Clarke. The writers from the anthology were accompanied by an incredible band, led by The Black Dreams editor, Reggie Chamberlain-King.
With our regular nights on hold, in May 2020 we went online for a virtual get-together, with special guests Joe Holtaway and Robyn Hitchcock.
HELP! is hosted by Glenn Patterson, and features Nick Laird, Lucy Caldwell, Vahni Capildeo, Susannah Dickey, Leontia Flynn and Stephen Sexton, special guest Robyn Hitchock, and the premiere of an original song by Joe Holtaway, in collaboration with Southwark Day Care Centre for Asylum Seekers and ConsciousFilmCo.
