Last year's launch of the groundbreaking Queering the Green anthology, edited by Paul Maddern, has thrown the spotlight onto the vibrant LGBTQ poetry scene in Ireland. This year has seen the publication of new pamphlets by local queer poets, with Toby Buckley's Milk Snake and Mícheál McCann's Keeper. Padraig Regan's first collection, Some Integrity, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Forward Prize, and Dawn Watson has signed with Granta for her eagerly awaited debut collection, We Play Here, due in Spring 2023.
Join Paul, Toby, Mícheál, Padraig and Dawn for a discussion of all things queer poetry, hosted by Hilary McCollum, the Seamus Heaney Centre's Publishing Fellow. The event will celebrate the launch of the Seamus Heaney Centre's new podcast series, Queers at Queen's, which features all five writers talking about poetry, life, and Nigella Lawson.
