Date(s)
October 9, 2025
Location
26 University Square/01/005
Time
13:00 - 14:30

Seminar and Panel Discussion with Dr Karen Ross, UMass-Boston.

Respondents:

  • Rev Canon Tracey McRoberts (Rector of St Matthew’s, Belfast and Rural Dean for Mid-Belfast);
  • Laurie Randall (Mediation Northern Ireland); and
  • Liza Wilkinson (TIDES Training)

Dr Ross will evaluate the impact of dialogic and grassroots peacebuilding initiatives, drawing on a decade of research about the impact of encounter programs in the Israeli-Palestinian context; restorative justice programs in US correctional institutions; community-based dialogue work in the US; and an ongoing, global project exploring the impact of participation in peace- and conflict-focused international education programs.

Panellists will respond to her presentation, drawing from their own experiences of peacebuilding in Northern Ireland.
