The Children’s Rights in Practice Special Interest Group (Participation, Protection, Inclusion), in conjunction with the European Social Work Research Association, invites you to register for an online seminar with Harry Shier, an expert in children’s rights who will present his Pathways to Participation Model as it relates to child welfare.

The model was developed by Harry Shier and first published in Children & Society in 2001. Shier’s progressive ‘pathway’ of child and youth participation encompasses five levels (presented vertically) and what Shier calls ‘three stages of commitment’ (presented horizontally above the five levels).

During this interactive session Harry will outline his model and answer questions from the audience.

Organisers: Dr Paul McCafferty (School of SSESW at Queen's University Belfast) SIG Lead Convenor, with Dr Esther Mercado Garcia Complutense University Madrid, Wendy Eerdekens Artevelde University of Applied Sciences and Dr Inger Sofie Dahlø Husby Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
