Lalor Roddy brings Seamus Heaney's 'Clearances' off the page, in a special performance and talk at The Seamus Heaney Centre. The 'Clearances' poems appear in Heaney's Haw Lantern (1987) and centre around the poets relationship with his mother.
Lalor Roddy is a well-loved and respected actor from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He has expansive credits in both stage and screen, including 'That They May Face the Rising Sun', 'Hunger', 'Grabbers', 'The Devil's Doorway,' and 'Games of Thrones.' He has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company, at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin and was a a founding member of Belfast theatre company, Tinderbox.
